Drama

Dramatic sketches are strategically used in our worship services. Most often we create our own. We have a team of actors we use according to the cast needed. We are always interesting adding more to our team who act and write. If you are interested, please contact either the worship arts pastor or Bill Blackwood at vblackw441@aol.com.

Choir

The choir sings once a quarter in both services. There is no audition to sing in the choir. The choir is for middle school through adult. One only needs to attend rehearsal and performance when scheduled. Printed music and audio are available ahead of time so the choir member can familiarize themselves with the music prior to rehearsal. Please contact Rachelle Lewandowski or Pastor Rod for more information and dates.

Horns

We have a horn section that plays with the band during the worship segments about once a month during the school year. Proficiency on trumpet, trombone, sax, or flute is necessary as well as music reading. If interested, please contact the worship arts pastor.

Ushers

We are committed to providing a welcoming environment to worshippers and helpful guidance for those new to Midland Free. Our ushers are friendly men, women, and youth who welcome people into the worship area, distribute important weekly information, assist people in finding a seat and provide assistance to those in the worship area that may need attention. We provide on the job training. We are looking for people with a heart to serve and a smile to share. If interested, please contact Ken or Carol Burmeister at theburmeisters@sbcglobal.net or you may contact the worship arts pastor for more information.

Media Duplicating

Each week after the second worship service we provide recordings of the sermon for those who wish to purchase that Sunday’s sermon. We also take orders for previous sermons or sermon series. We provide training in the duplicating process. The station for this ministry is directly across from our Welcome Center. If you are interested in helping in this ministry, please contact either Krista Kloha at kristakloha@mefchurch.org or contact the worship arts pastor.

Lord’s Supper Team

Preparing the elements of communion for a worshipping congregation can be a rewarding ministry. We have a team of people who prayerfully prepare the elements of bread and juice for the services on the Sundays we celebrate the Lord’s Supper. This team serves about six or seven times a year. This is not a difficult task but is a vital part of helping prepare this sacrament in the service. If interested please contact the worship arts pastor.

Baptismal Team

We celebrate each time someone is baptized. It is a great event in their lives as well as in the life of Midland Free. Most candidates are nervous and unsure where to go and what to do. We want to make this a worry-free experience for them so they can celebrate their special day. We have men who assist the male candidates and women who assist the female candidates. Those who serve on this team will make contact with the baptism candidate prior to Sunday to arrange a meeting time. The baptism team member then walks the candidate through the process of the where, when and how. Once the candidate has changed into the baptismal robes, the team member will stay with the candidate until after they have been baptized. Being friendly, helpful and assisting the candidates from start to finish is very encouraging to those who are baptized. If you are interested in serving in this way, please contact Gary or Sue Black at gmblack@chartermi.net or you may contact the worship arts pastor.

If you have other interests in the arts not listed here, please do not hesitate to contact the worship arts pastor.
