Oh come let us song to the Lord
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving
Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms
For the Lord is the great God,
And the great King above all gods.
-- Psalm 95:1-3
Worship in the broadest sense is acknowledging that someone or something else is greater – worth more – and by consequence, to be obeyed, feared, and adored. . .Worship is the sign that in giving myself completely to someone or something, I want to be mastered by it.
-- Harold Best, Music Through The Eyes of Faith
Worship is the believer’s response of all that they are – mind, emotions, will, body – to what God is and says and does.
-- Warren Wiersbe, Real Worship
Worship of the living and true God is essentially an engagement with him on the terms that he proposes and in the way that he alone makes possible.
-- David Peterson, Engaging With God
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. Love your neighbor as you love yourself.
-- Jesus Christ
Worship is not just a weekly event. It is not just something you do. Worship is a lifelong encounter with the God of the universe that transforms us from being self-centered to being God-centered in every area of our life. But when we do gather to worship Him, we come together as His people, as a unique and loving community, and it ought to be an extraordinary experience!
Who or what gives your life ultimate meaning and purpose? We believe the reason we exist and live is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. It is not enough that we merely appreciate the glory of God. Those who truly behold the glory of God and engage on a personal level in worship will rejoice and delight in Him in a maximum way. Jesus lived, died and rose again so we may have this deep, eternal relationship with the Triune God and that the joy of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit may be in us! Can you imagine anything greater than that? Our goal is to cultivate this God centered joy in worshippers.

There are many areas of service in a church the size of Midland Free. However, the ministry of Worship Arts is not for professionals—it is for people who like to help and families who like to serve in a ministry together.
Taste of Worship is an overview of how we help others worship. Come join us for a lunch, a hands-on “behind the scenes” tour and an opportunity for you to ask questions. Please RSVP.
