The instrumental ministry includes the Flute Ensemble and the Instrumental Ensemble which are made up of musicians who participate and add to the total worship experience on Sunday mornings approximately 3-4 times per year.

Wind Ensemble

The goal of the Wind Ensemble is to provide a ministry and educational opportunity for all believers who play an instrument and may enjoy participating. This brings some variety to the contemporary praise music and presents a means for instrumental musicians to get plugged in to Midland Free's ministries. Members must be of 8th grade or older, with at least 3 years experience playing their instrument (usually 8th grade and up) either in an organized group (band or orchestra) or having had lessons for 3 years. It is highly recommended that you bring a folding music stand to rehearsals.

Flute Ensemble

The goal of the Flute Ensemble is to fellowship with other musicians that have a love for Christ, to praise and worship God through a variety of musical styles which, in turn, allows us as individuals to show our thankfulness to Him for our God given talent. Membership is limited to floutists only, that have a level of musical ability that is at a 7th grade level (2 years experience) or above.

Both groups rehearse every other Sunday afternoon. Schedules are set based on when participation in the worship service. Generally there are 6 weeks of rehearsals prior to the scheduled service. All sheet music is provided. Instrumental ensemble members are asked to bring their own instrument and a folding music stand to each rehearsal.

The instrumental team members must go through a process of application which involves interviewing with the group leaders. Members should, first, be living a consistent walk with Jesus Christ and, second, demonstrate musical ability.

Gifts are service, exhortation and encouragement.
