In the Hospital?

If you go to the hospital we want to be able to minister with you but we need to know you are there. Please be aware that hospitals are not allowed to communicate with the church that you are there because of privacy laws unless you ask them to tell us. We want to visit people in the hospital to encourage and pray but we need to know. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Call your Life Group leader and tell them you are there [or on the way]. They will know how to contact the pastoral staff.
  • Call the church office and talk to someone 989-631-4411. After hours emergency number is 989-859-6137.
  • In an emergency ask for a hospital chaplain to notify the church. After hours they can call the church and hear the emergency number.
  • With a routine check-in please tell them you are from Midland Evangelical Free Church. At MidMich hospital there is a code [MF for Midland Free] that will show up in the computer tracking. When we call they can tell us you are there. Covenant chaplains will call us to notify us. Most hospitals have a process.
  • Bottom line: if you are at the hospital and want spiritual support and encouragement, please ask a chaplain at the hospital or have a friend/ family member call the church or emergency number. Thanks.
