- Sermon from the Fall 2007 sermon series by Pastor Jay Childs, Senior Pastor, and Pastor David Jebaratnam, Executive Pastor.
- The vision at Midland Free is to be a church of IMPACT for Christ in our communities, our region, and the world. Our purpose and desired results are for you to be energized to make an IMPACT by writing specific plans for spiritual development with tangible actions. We invite you to use these helps as a guide to making a Personal IMPACT Plan.
A place to start:
- Ask yourself, “How is God calling me to grow or change?”
- Pray about the area(s) in which God may be inviting you to grow. God may be calling you to more than one change in any given area.
- When you have completed your Personal IMPACT Plan, be sure to share it with someone else, i.e., accountability partner, small group, mentor, good friend.
- Additional helps, explanation of ministry areas and specific dates for class offerings are listed on the website.
Core Values
Worship and Glorify God
Psalm 115:1 and Revelation 19:6-7
We believe that all that we do, whether together or apart, is an act of worship to bring honor and glory to God. Worship in Spirit and Truth is an outflowing of a heart devoted to God, not dependent upon form or style.
Bible
2 Timothy 3:16-17 and 2 Peter 1:19-21
We believe the Bible is God’s Word and is our final authority for all aspects of our Christian faith and life. We believe the Bible is inerrant, understandable, necessary, and sufficient to guide a person to live a life glorifying to God.
Community
John 13:34-35
We believe as a community in Jesus Christ we are to be known by our love for one another. We care for and love one another through our commitment to God and each other. We regularly meet, encourage, strengthen and hold each other accountable in a demonstration of this love.
Prayer
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
We believe that prayer is a way of life for all believers and is essential in building our intimate relationship with Christ. We seek through prayer, both individually and corporately, God’s direction and strength to complete the ministries and actions He has given us.
Contemporary
1 Corinthians 9:19-23
We believe our ministries, worship style, and outreach, need to be relevant to the culture. Our intent is to be purposeful in seeking God’s direction in all that we do and not be bound by tradition.
Discipleship
Matthew 28:19-20, Ephesians 4:11-13 and 2 Timothy 2:2
We believe discipleship is becoming more like Christ and is a responsibility of all believers. Discipleship is a process of one generation of believers teaching the next through relationships, as well as individual and group studies and experiences.
Service
Ephesians 2:10, 1 Peter 4:10-11 and James 2:18
We believe serving is a part of becoming more like Christ and is a responsibility and privilege of all believers. We are involved in the body to serve and be served according to our gifts. Service includes good works that contribute to the welfare of other people and the church and is a tangible way to demonstrate the love of Christ.
Missions
Revelation 7:9 and Matthew 28:18-20
We believe missions is God raising up worshippers from every people group through His church. The Great Commission is the responsibility of every believer.
Stewardship
1 Peter 4:10-11, Matthew 25:34-36 and Luke 16:10-13
We believe stewardship is the generous exercise of our spiritual gifts, abilities and resources in the service of God and the body. Stewardship is the responsibility of every Christian to be exercised wisely with the resources God provides.
