Jeff Andridge

Shepherds and leads disciple-making in the high school ministry for 9-12th graders

Jeff Andridge, High School Pastor

Pastor Jeff has been involved in youth ministry for 16 years. He graduated from Michigan State University and Wheaton Graduate School with an MA in Educational Ministry.

Luke is Jeff’s favorite book of the Bible because Luke took the time to research and to give his readers insight to Jesus as the perfect God/Man. On his day off he is most likely to be spending time with his wife, Kassie, running or hunting. Jeff and Kassie have four children. Finally, after 40 years Pastor Jeff has been able to grow a beard!

Kim Goodnight

Oversees ministry to children from infants through 5th graders

Kim Goodnight, Children's Director

Kim has been serving as Children’s Director at Midland Free since June 2012. Kim says, “The best part of my job is building relationships with our ministry partners, parents and their children as we seek to achieve a common goal of multiplying disciples for Jesus Christ.” Prior to working in full-time ministry, she spent 15 years within The Dow Chemical Company, utilizing her business degree.

A little known fun fact about Kim is that she was in a televised opera called the Tender Land (by famous composer, Aaron Copland) when she was a child. It can still be seen on YouTube and her photo ended up in the TV Guide that year. In her spare time Kim loves to read, take nice long naps, or go kayaking. Kim’s favorite book of the Bible is Philippians. Her life verse comes from Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.” Kim and her husband, Jeff, met in 7th grade and have been married for over 27 years. They are the parents of two adult daughters and are expecting to be grandparents in 2015.

David J. Jebaratnam

Functions as the leader of the staff and overall operations of the church

David J. Jebaratnam, Executive Pastor

Pastor David has been serving as the Executive Pastor since 2006, and he reports to and works closely with the Board of Elders to implement the mission and vision of the church. He loves working on teams with staff and volunteers to discover strategies and align everyone’s God-given gifts and talents to achieve the mission and vision.

Prior to joining Midland Free, Pastor David served as Missions Pastor and Outreach Team Leader at a large church (Grace Chapel in Lexington, Massachusetts) for eight years. He also enjoyed a successful academic career as a tenured Chemistry Professor at the university level.

Pastor David’s academic background includes a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1986), a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University (1988-1990), a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (2003), a MBA from Northwood University (2009).

Pastor David is very confused about where his loyalties lie. He is a die-hard fan of the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, and Boston Bruins, but has no loyalties to any team in Michigan. Pastor David and his wife, Gem, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in 2013 by taking their first ever trip to Hawaii. They have two adult daughters.

Chuck Lloyd

Shepherds and leads disciple-making in the middle school ministry for 6-8th graders

Chuck Lloyd, Middle School Pastor

Pastor Chuck came to Midland Free as the Youth Pastor in October, 1995, after serving a Methodist Church in Brick, New Jersey. He graduated from the University of Missouri (BA in Math Education) and has taken classes at three different seminaries including Covenant Seminary in St. Louis, MO.

Why is Chuck in youth ministry: “I began in youth ministry because of my passion to share the truth with students and disciple them to follow Jesus. I am thinking that you may someday find my photo in the Guinness Book of World Records for the world's oldest youth pastor. My primary responsibility is to build disciples in 6th-8th grade students so they can love and serve the Lord with all of their heart, mind and strength not only during their school years, but also throughout their lives.”

One of his favorite books of the Bible is Esther because it is a fascinating story that shows the incredible providence of God. On his day off Chuck is most likely to be searching for new baseball cards to add to his collection. He is the president of the Michigan chapter of the St. Louis Cardinals fan club (as well as its only member). Chuck and his wife, Nicole, have three children.

Rod Lyon

Equips, develops, leads worshippers and plans how the church body can engage with God each week

Rod Lyon, Worship Arts Pastor

Pastor Rod has been serving as Worship Arts Pastor since 2004. The best part of his job is that he is expected to study the Bible, teach the Bible, grow as a disciple of Jesus, make and develop disciples, pray for people, plan and lead worship services and give his life in service to Jesus. Rod says, “People pay me to do this!!”

Rod graduated from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Master Church Music, Minor Counseling & Biblical Studies) and Jacksonville University (Bachelor of Music). Rod loved music from an early age. God called him to ministry in 9th grade when he learned he could use his love for music in local church ministry.

Rod’s favorite book of the Bible is Ephesians because Paul describes our inclusion in the completed work of Jesus Christ and how we live in light of the indescribable nature of the gospel. On his day off you might find him sleeping late, reading, or having a lunch date with his wife, Carol. Carol and Rod have two adult daughters and three grandchildren. Did you know that is not Rod’s real hair; he wears a wig … just kidding. For just a split second you tried to imagine him bald didn’t you?
